3 months old and more pics

Well Erika is 3 months old today. She changes almost every day it seems. She can now sit up (with a little help) and she is much more alert and awake these days. She has also discovered her voice in recent days and she loves practicing using it. We have also discovered she loves to look at books. She studies each page intently. (Mike loves it, although I think some of the books he wants to buy for HER are still a little over her head at the moment).
Anyway here are her monthly teddy pics. She still loves to share lots with him, and now that she has discovered her voice her secrets are no longer secret... LOL:
We have been spending a lot of time outside these last few days. The weather here has just been too nice to be indoors. Here are a few shots of Tim and Lex from a recent outing:

Update, (yes another one already!)

Well here we are almost at the end of Jan., and I am updating our blog... again!
I wanted to let everyone know about Erika's hearing appointment. For those that don't know, when Erika was born she failed her hearing screening on her left side. We had her retested, only to be told it was likely she had hearing loss on that side. So we took her into our local Children's hospital yesterday to get a more thorough test done. Well God was gracious... she passed. The doctor said he thought she may have just had some fluid that got stuck in her ear. So as far as he was concerned she had perfect hearing. I admit I was a little concerned. But God is good, and all is well now. Yea!
Well we have been busy too, with the weather being so nice we have been taking advantage of it and spending a lot of time outside. The other day at the park Lex decided she wanted to wear her wings... she looked so cute! We also are getting to the point in our kids lives where there are LOTS of birthdays. We just celebrated my niece's one year birthday: What a cutie patootie!
Tim and Lex both have birthdays coming up, so that will start us a busy February.
So, that's all for now, but check back as I will have some scrapbook pics (I have a get together this afternoon... whoohoo girls afternoon out!), we have the kids birthday's and we are looking to add a new pet (Tim wants a guinea pig for his birthday)to our household. So there will be lots of picture opportunities in just the next month alone.

Wild Life Park

With the weather being a beautiful 75 degrees here we have been taking advantage, and spending some time outside. We spent yesterday at our local wild life park. They just opened up a new indoor aquarium, so we went to go check it out. Here are some photos from our adventure:
We had a blast, and we are now thinking of getting a membership there. The educational opportunities alone would make it worth it... but to be honest... it is just very cool to be that close to the fish. I mean when you can see a shark swim by just a few inches from you it's pretty amazing.
If you want to see more animals from our trip check click here.
We hope those of you that are enduring the snow are safe and warm. (But now you know why we live in the desert... LOL) As always thanks for stopping by... Hope to hear from you all soon!

Update *UPDATED*

Ok so one week into the year and I am already posting updates... it's gonna be a looooong year. LOL
Ok I'll start with Erika. Poor baby... at the moment she is sick. We all have been, but I was hoping with her being so little she would not get it. No such luck. She actually had her 2 month Doctor appointment on Monday. She is now 9 pounds 13 ounces, and 22 and 1/4 inches long. She is growing like a weed. Please keep her (and me) in prayer... on Friday I have to take her to another appointment to get some tests done on her hearing. She has failed the hearing screens on her left ear since birth. We are not sure of the extent of her hearing loss or if it can be corrected...hence the tests they are running so we can begin to find these things out. The want me to bring her in tired (so she will sleep through the tests). Anyone who has ever dealt with an overtired infant knows this will be interesting to say the least. Especially when you add the other two into the mix.
Alexa and Tim had their first Space class of the year on Tuesday. These classes are always a lot of fun and the kids really do learn a lot. I feel so bad for Lex though... she is constantly out numbered at these classes. This time there were 3 other boys there and she was the only girl. Oh well she has fun and is learning a lot so I guess it all works out.
Lastly I finally got my Christmas present from my hubby. A new camera. WoHooo! I am so excited! It has all kinds of features. I spent the afternoon snapping some photos of the kids: Yes this next one is a photo, I edited it with the software that came with my camera. I thought it looked pretty neat.
Anyway hope you all had a great first week into the new year and may it continue to only get better.
*UPDATE*
I had to reschedule Erika's hearing appointment for two weeks. With her being sick the Doctor decided it was not worth it to do the tests until she was better, so they could get more accurate results.

Happy Holidays

Happy 2009!
Sorry I have not posted for the last two weeks... time just got away from me this busy holiday season.
We spent Christmas with my folks. It was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast and made out with lots and lots of STUFF! But it was great to see family and being able to catch up with them. My folks were great, and I know that they love the kids... even when Tim and Lex are climbing all over them and getting into everything... LOL.
Ok funny story. In the photo above you will notice that my son has these festive candy cane socks on. He got the socks about a week before Christmas from my MIL. He has worn these sock almost everyday since then. He got upset while we were visiting my folks because we made him take them off because they got wet. LOL. Even as I write this he walked out in his pj's and candy cane socks. It's strange the things kids get attached to. :) Anyway just thought I'd share...
While we were in Yuma, Erika had her two month photo taken with Mr. Bear: She is growing like a weed. She is very smiley and generally a very happy baby. She is reaching out for things now and loves to laugh at her silly brother and sister.
So after all that we come back home and on Sunday celebrated again with Mike's family. Shesh, talk about more stuff. LOL. They love it (of course!) and have made much use of most of the stuff they got.
So we have been very busy, and as we now enter 2009 things are already stacking up... appointments and classes and play dates are already scheduled for this next month alone. So we will once again do our best to keep everyone updated with photos.
So as we start this new year I will post the last photos I took in 2008. Yes, Mike and I spent much of new year's eve playing with our night owl daughter on her mat. I could not think of a much better way to bring in the new year.
Happy Holidays and may God grant you much grace and peace this next year!
